Dr Pavan Chandrala trained at Liverpool and Prince of Wales hospital completing his general cardiology training at Nepean Hospital in Sydney. He then undertook a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging, heart failure and inherited cardiovascular disease at the renowned Barts Heart Centre in London which is the largest cardiac hospital in Europe. Dr Chandrala then underwent a further fellowship in structural heart interventions before returning to Australia.
Dr Chandrala is an expert in echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. He is also proficient in transcatheter aortic valve replacements and other structural interventions. During his career he has held academic teaching positions, published in peer reviewed journals and brought efficiency to his workplaces.
He is passionate about innovation in Cardiology and providing the best outcomes for his patients through understanding their individual health context.
In addition managing a wide range of General Cardiology conditions, Dr Chandrala has subspecialty interests in Cardiac Imaging including CT & MR and Structural and Valvular heart diseases. He is also passionate about heart diseases in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and will be co-leading our new Cardio-Metabolic Clinic which is a multi-disciplinary approach to reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease and diabetes in our Indigenous populations.
