Cardiology is the branch of medicine that deals with the heart and circulation. Broadly this includes conditions such as congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular disease and electrophysiology or irregular heart rhythms. Cardiologists often also manage risk factors that lead up to heart disease.
