Consultant Neurologist

Dr Kieren Po is a consultant neurologist with particular expertise in multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune neurological disorders. He holds honours degrees in pharmacy and medicine from the University of Sydney. He completed specialty training in neurology at Concord, Canberra and Nepean Hospitals; after which he was awarded the prestigious ANZAN Fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, United Kingdom, where he worked closely with experts from the University of Oxford in autoimmune neurology and epilepsy. He returned to Sydney to complete further fellowship training in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at the Brain and Mind Centre and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

 

He is passionate about medical education and is currently a unit coordinator for the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) program at the University of Sydney. He has taught numerous pharmacy students, medical students, and trainee doctors over the years; and been acknowledged with several teaching awards.

 

Dr Po has presented research at Australian and international neurology meetings and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is an investigator in a number of local and international clinical trials and is undertaking further PhD research in multiple sclerosis with Prof Michael Barnett.

 

He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP); and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), American Academy of Neurology (AAN), and International Society of Neuroimmunology (ISNI).

 

He grew up in Sydney but has a good appreciation of life in regional Australia, having lived and worked in Dubbo and Tweed Heads previously.
