Nephrology or Renal medicine is the branch of medicine that concerns with the kidneys and all aspects of their function and in kidney disease as well. This includes the management of other diseases that also affect the kidneys such as hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes. Nephrologists or renal physicians also deal with conditions such as:

- Renal replacement therapy such as hemo- & peritoneal dialysis
- Poorly controlled hypertension
- Inflammation of the kidneys
